MR. THOMAS' REGRETS.

Thomas, general secretary of the National Union of Railwaymen. has issued a statement regretting the failure to arrive at a settlement of the strike. The only reason he gives is that the Railway - men's Executive was convinced that i' could not persuade the men to resume on the conditions offered, but the fact that the trades' unionists are still in session, and may take steps to see the Prime Minister, may lead to another meeting.
