PROFITEERS IN RETREAT.
BRITISH PRICES FALLING. A and N.Z. LONDON Sept. 26. Over 1000 profiteering committees have been established. Many complain that the committees get no work to do, as the public are so used to overcharging that they do not realise the possibilities of the Act, or are too lazy to report cases of profiteering. Nevertheless, prices, especially for boots and clothing, are decreasing.
