FROM CHURCH TO MINES
PASTORS SEEK LIVING WAGE. United Service. LONDON, Sept. 25.
A report presented by the Welsh Baptist Union at Aberavon stated that owing to their low stipends, many of which are less than £100 a year, and the high cost of living, a number of pastors have thrown up the Church to become, coalminers. They have thus quadrupled their earnings, but the churches are being left without ministers.
