NEW CAVE DISCOVERED.

A new cave has been found in the hills near Moa Bone Cave, at Redcliffs, near Sumner. The floor is covered with sand, and the cave is high enough for a jn'*n to stand up in. It runs back into the hill for about a chain. The bones of a seal, which crumbled away when touched, and some pumice-stone were found in the cave. Mr. K. Speight, curator of the Canterbury Museum, proposes to make a thorough investigation, in the hope that objects of scientific interest may be discovered. Pending this, the cave has been temporarily closed.
