MOVEMENT IN CHBISTCHURCH. [BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. At a meeting of shop assistants held here to-night, Mr. B. D. Martin stated that the steps being taken to form a union of clerks in Christ-church were progressing well. He had ascertained that there were educated young men of 21 and 22 years of age working as clerks who were drawing 25s per week, and that men after five to eight years' service were only drawing 60s per week.
