EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.

RESULTS AT MOUNT ALBERT. THE TWENTY-THIRD WEEK. The twenty-third wools of the Auckland PouUrykwpors* Association's first single pen sad team egg-laying competition concluded on Monday last. A total of 1191 egga was laid by the light breeds and 909 by the heavy breeds, making; a total of 2100. Daring the 23 weeks the heavy breeds have laid 15.776. and the light- breeds 20,619. or a combined grand total of 56.595. Good weekly scores wore recorded by the teams, notably by Master E. Schnackenbere'a Silver Wyandottes, which laid 40 eggs, the highest yet recorded by any team of fowls in the association competitions. This team has laid during the last eight weeks the following totals, which may be considered exceptional laying:— 86. 37, 34, 89, 37. 35. 40. The heavy breeds are now snowing signs of broodiness and several birds had to be removed from the pens. For individual birds 23 possibles were recorded. 16 in the heavy breeds and 10 to the light breeds. The loading individual bird in the heavy breeds is L. G. E»yrs* No. 1 Silver Wyandotte with 128. The Duck Section. . 7%© ducts, on the whole, are laying most consistently and 214 egga were laid by the ' six teams dorms the week, making a grand totaj of 3117. E- W. Daniels' No. 2 duck it atill laying every day. and her sequence now stands at 122 eggs in as many days. The same breeder's No. 4 has laid 101 eggs on end.
