The Bank of New Zealand has received the following cablegram from its London office, under .date of September 16:—"The sales have opened with strong competition and large attendance of buyers- There is a good demand for all kinds of wool. The market is strong for all kinds of Merino and fin© crosebreds, and prices are higher 5 per cent, to 71 per cent. The market is strong for medium crossbred, with prices higher par to 5 per cent. The demand for coarse crossbreds is improving. Other wools show no quotable change." LONDON WOOL SALES. PRICES FIRM AT LATE RATES. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Sept. 19. At to-day's wool sales rather poor selection was offered. There wm good Yorkshire and Continental competition for all Merinos and fine orossbreds, and prices were fully firm at late rates. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., has received the following cablegram from its London house, under date of September 17, 1919:— " Wool sales opened. Merino and fine crossbred wool 5 to 10 per cent., and medium crossbred wool 5 per cent., higher. "Tallow: Fine mutton, £5 Is per cwt; good beef. £4 18b 6d: mixed. £4 7s ; fine mutton tallow neglected." AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. The Auckland Stock Exchange will be closed to-day in observance of the Dominion Day holiday. - FARMERS' AUCTIONEERING COMPANY. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ROTORUA. Saturday.
