3 j~ MlYirFVprs^fAmiNiifiAn-' : ill 9J/u IHi w tl iSv \/VIU|PCUUVII' (Closed on JULY 31st, 1919.) « -— ! —' NOTWITHSTANDING the fact that the influenza epidemic broke out as our competition was launched, Ithe contest proved most successful in every way. ■*? The majority of the large number of verses submitted were of high standard, and the judges nad a busy time selecting the fifty prize-winners. A number of verses sub- , mrtted contained the yellow coupon instead of the yellow box, but as this was the result of an error in the compilation of an early advertisement, all verses sent ua were admitted. ...,,.. - , A number of verses forwarded were of high literary merit; but unsuitable fop • the purposes of advertising. This was particularly so in the case of Mr. Rab. Scott, 5 Albion, Queensland, to whom NUXITE is a real friend, and we have pleasure in awarding Mr. Scott a special prize of one guinea in appreciation of his literary work. Our heartiest thanks are due to the representatives of the "Sydney Sun," "Sunday Times," "Farmer and Settler," and "The Land" newspapers, for judging the ; competition, and for the care they took in the handling of the many verses.
