NEW ARMY PAY.
INCREASES FOR OTHER RANKS Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 6 p.m.) LONDON. Sept. 15. The following new rates of pay have been fixed for privates and non-commissioned officers of the British Army :—Private recruit, 2s 9d daily for the. first two years, and 3s 6d a day afterwards, plus 6d a day proficiency pay ; sergeant, 7s a day ; regimental sergeant-major, 14s a day.
