TH£ RUGBY GAME.

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.

The management committee of the Auckland Rushy Union met last evening. Present: Messrs. H Clay, in the chair, H. T. Revel!, K. Webster. S. Hinton, A. Bayiiss. J. DrummoDd, G. Miller, and B. W. Hastings.

Mr. Webster was appointed manager of the Auckland team to play Hamilton at Hamilton on Saturday. Permission was granted to the Public Trust Office to play the New Zealand Insurance Company at the Showground on September 27. and to the shipping offices to play the Customs Department at the Showground on October 4. Advice was received from the Bay of Plenty Union that its representative team would play Auckland at Auckland on. Saturday. September 27. The Albany-Suburbs match -was to have been played at Albany on Saturday last, but owing to the state of the tide the latter team could not. make the trip. Permission was. therefore, granted for the game to be plaved on Saturday. Mr. W. R. Stock, who was referee in the Ponsonby-Papatoetoe second grade match, played on Saturday last at Papatoetoe. reported that he had ordered a. Ponsonby plaver off the field. The Ponsonby team, he stated, played in a disgraceful manner, and gave a lot of trouble The matter was referred to the Junior Advisory Board. The Grafton fifth grade team protested against the Marist Brothers' fifth grade team reaving members who were over age in "the match Grafton v. Marist Brothers, on September 6. The protest was referred to the Junior Advisory Board. The College Rifles third grade team entered a protest against the Ponsonby third grade ream for playing members who were ineligible against College Rifles. It was decided that the match should be replayed The Parneli third grade team entered a protest against the match Parneli v. plierslie being awarded to the latter team, on the ground that a try was not properly scored, the protest was dismissed. The Junior Advisory Board suggested that the junior competitions should be declared closed, with the exception of third and fittn grao.es. In the third grade competition the final between Parneli id Ellerslie should.be Played as a. curtain-raiser" to the principal match on Saturday next. The fifth grade competition would be decided when the protest concerning the GraftonMartjt .brothers' match was settled. The board also suggested that a first junior team and .fourth grade team be sent to .1 names on October i. The report concerning the closing of the competitions was adopted and consideration of the suggestion that teams be sent to Thames was deferred till next me/ring. It was sttted that arrangements were b-;ing made to play a, match between secondary schools' representatives and under 20 representatives, at Eden Park on Saturday. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. The following primary schools' representative team has been selected to play Thames at Thames on Saturday :—Fullback, Mills (Mount Eden); threequarters. "Are Dalmatians debarred from taking part in matches under your jurisdiction was the nature of an inquiry from the Auckland district considered by the management committee of the New Zealand Rugbv Union at its last meeting. The secretary, Mr. A E. Combs, reported that a reply had been sent that it was inadvisable to allow Dalmatians to play until the union had considered the matter. Arrangements in connection with the match between Auckland and the Australian League representatives on Saturday were completed. It was decided that a game between the Maritime and Marist Old Boys first grade teams be played as a '' curtain-raiser " to fie representative game, the match to commence at 1.30 p.m. Mr. Clayton was appointed to referee the preliminary game and Mr A Ball to referee the renresentalive match.
