BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.

Investment stocks -were again in strong demand on the eharemarket yesterday. In banks, buyers of Nationals vera a little firmer at £6 9s. with, sellers at £6 lis. New ZeaJands sold at £14 16s, more, being wanted at £14 14e, late sellers holding for £15. Fully paid issue were offered at £19. In insurances, New Zealands changed hands at 54s 6d, sellers closing at same price, buyers at 34s 3d. Business was reported in South British at £9 8s 6d, late sellers asking £9 lOe, with buyers at £9 9s. In financial lines business was reported in Loan and Mercantiles at £117 10s, or £3 10s better than the previous day's buying offers, with. more in demand at £115, and no sellers. In coals inquiry for Northerns (10s paid) was a little firmer at 7s 4d, sellers Bs. Westports were wanted at 295, no sellers quoting. In shipping, Northerns sold at 17s 4d, with further buyers at 17s 3d, and no sellers. Contributing issue were offered at 8s lOd, buyers 8s 9d. Huddart-Parker's (ex div.) had buyers at 47s 6d. sellers 48s 3d. Buyers of P. and O.'s (deferred stock) advanced offers from £570 to £578, without attracting sellers. In miscellaneous lines Colonial Sugars (Fin and New Zealand) were wanted at £20 12s 6d, no sellers quoting. New Zealand Refrigerating firmed a shade, business beintr reported at 91s, with more wanted at 90s 9d. New issue (103 naid) had inquiry at 235. A sale was reported in Union Oik at 31s, and Wilsons Cements were done at 16s. In mining Waihis sold at. 47s 9d. with further buyers at 47s 6d, sellers 47s 9d. Waihi Grand Junctions were done at 14ii 9d, late sellers 15s, and buyers 14s 7d. Business was reported in Talismans at 10s 2d, sellers closing at 10s 6d, buyers at 10s.
