GALS IN GULF OF MEXICO. STEAMER LIFTED ASHORE. PORT DEMOLISHED. By Telegraph—Press Association— (.Received 9 p.m.) A. and N.Z. GALVESTON. Sept. 15. A hurricane demolished the port of Aransas Pass on Mustang Island, in the Gulf of Mexico. Loss of life is reported. Twelve persons were killed in the adjacent town of Corpus Christi. The British steamer Median, 6306 tons, was lifted ashore at Aransas Pass by the hurricane. Aransas Pass and Corpus Christi are small ports on the coast of Texas.
