CONVALESCENT SOLDIERS.
TREATMENT IN AUCKLAND.
Since convalescent soldier natients were removed from the Epsom Home on September 4, that institution, which belongs to the Auckland Hospital Board, has been vacant. The board has not yet decided what it will do with the property. The suggestion was made that it might be used as a convalescent home for male patients from the general hosnital, but, in view of the fact that provision for hospital extension is being made at Mamirewa, it is possible the board would have no use for the building. The Defence Department is now using a part of Narrow Neck camp and the Devonport Convalescent Home for patients who formerly would have gone to Epsom, but the scope of the work is wider. In addition to convalescents, men whose treatment has not been determined will go to Narrow Neck, where there is a medical officer with a staff of orderlies, and .they will be classified and sent to the hospitals best suited for them. To the Devc-niwrt Home, which is staffed by sisters, will be sent men who require more careful attention.
