DOMINIONS AND LEAGUE.
AN ANSWER TO AMERICA. VANCOUVER, Aug. 30. The American newspapers devote much space to the Foreign Relations Committee's proposals to reduce the British Dominions' representation on the League of Nations.
One writer recalls that when the question was discussed in. London before the Conference Mr. Wilson opposed any representation of the Dominions, asking what interest they had in European matteic. Mr. Lloyd Ueorge said that they hail a deep interest. Canada and Australia each had more soldier sons buried in Europe than had the United States. This silenced Mr. Wilson.
To-day it is practicalK admitted that the ci.mmittoe's Shantung amendment cannet, wis*, though the committee, now facetiously known as the "' Battalion of Death,'' promises a hard fight on the floor of the Senate.
