PERSHING LEADS TROOPS.

PARADE IN FIFTH AVENUE.

Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Rtcd. 9.30 p.m.; NEW YORK. Sept. 10.

Twenty - five thousand troops, headed by General" Pershing, paraded Fifth Avenue amidst scenes of unprecedented enthusiasm. It is estimated that at least 2,000,000 people witnessed the pageant, among whom was Cardinal Mercier. The day was declared a holiday. Tens of thousands of people from the surrounding country packed the hotels and boarding houses of the city.
