TREATMENT OF SOLDIERS' WIVES, | It has been decided by the Health Department that the concessions made to ! the wives of soldiers at St. Helens i Maternity Hospital will be continued tor j one year after the husband's discharge I from the forces. Since the beginning of the war, the ordinaiy rate at the hospita!—£l 10s a, week — has been suspended I in favour of the soldiers' wives, who have ' i.'reived free treatment. The ordinary l chat-,re of 00.- ; a week covens all expense's at the hospital, while those who cannot afford even this sum mav be treated by a St. Helens nurse for 10 days in their own homes for £1.
