BABY BORN AT SEA.
SKIPPER ACTS AS MIDWIFE.
A baby born on the high seas, of British parents, in a Norwegian ship, has arrived in London. The parents are Mr. and Mrs. Creece, of Acton, who were journeying home to England from the Falkland Islands in a, Norwegian whaler called the Orn, no passenger boats having" been available. Owing to the strike at Rio do Janeiro, the journey occupied three months. _ The baby was born on June 14, in mid-Atlantic, and the birth was entered in the ship's log, the .entry giving the latitude and longitude, and adding , that both mother and child were doing well. There was no doctor on board, and Mrs. Creece was the only woman. Captain j Johannesen, the skipper, played successfully the parte of doctor and midwife. He looked after the youngster in its early days, even giving it a' bath, much' to the delight of Mrs. Creece, who declared she could not have done it better herself.
