The Eaitangata left Wellington at 6.30 p.m. yesterday for Auckland direct. She as a general cargo from Lyttelton and Wellington., and is due here on Monday. The targe six-masted barqnentine E. F.. Sterling is expected to complete loading bur timber and general cargo and sdil for Sydney about September 13. ' The Auckland-owned schooner Northern 1 Chief, which arrived from Newcastle last • Thursday week, and bas been lying in the stream since, is to berth at the King's Wharf to-day to discharge hr coal cargo. The Karori arrived from Newcastle yesterday afternoon and berthed at the Hobson Wharf to-day to discharge her coal cargo. The Australian steamer Omasa arrived from Newcastle yesterday morning and berthed at the Central Wharf , to land her cargo of coal, bonedust, and timber. The sArahurs arrived from the East Coast yesterday afternoon and berthed at the King's Wharf. She is timed to sail for I Gisborne and Napier art noon to-day. I The departure of the Boyal Mail steamer I Tofua from Wellington for San Francisco I has been postponed until 5 p.m. on Monday.

The Kaituna is to come out of dock this taonmig, and will barth at the Sheerlegs W nan to complete her overhaul and survey. Her place in the dock this morning ill be taken by the Island steamer Tahtne, -which will go m for cleaning and painting. The Mokoia, which is due from Southern ports with passengers and cargo nest Thursday, is ti ;ed to sail from Auckland tor Dnnedm, via ports, on September 15. The Waipori is still being delayed by her overhaul and survey. She was shifted to the Hobson Wharf yesterday, and is expected to sail for Newcastle about Tuesday, , The following passengers arrived at Welington from Sydney by the Port Chalmers last Monday:—Mr. and Mrs. H. Owing to the delay caused by the waterside workers refusing to unload the Royal Mail steamer Niagara her departure has been further postponed until Wednesday. LORAIN DELAYED. A wireless message was received yesterday _ from the U.S. and A. steamer Lorain stating that she wa being delayed by stormy weather, and expected to reach Auckland at 2 p.m. to-day. PALOONA REPORTED. A wireless message received from the Paloona states that she expects to arrive from Suva at noon to-day. She will berth at the King's Wharf before going to Chelsea to discharge her cargo of sugar. KUROW FROM VANCOUVER. The Kurow, which is discharging a cargo of Newcastle coal at the King's Wharf, is to sail for Westport this evening to load a cargo of coal for Auckland. After discharging this cargo here she will load at this port for Suva and Vancouver. R.M.S. MAKURA. The Royal Mail steamer Makura left Sydney for Auckland at 1 p.m. on Thursday. She has 264 passengers as well as cargo for this port, and is due here on Monday. Her departure from Auckland for Vancouver, via way ports, has been fixed for next Saturday. THE AUSTRALPLAIN. The Commonwealth steamer Austral plain is now 29 days out from Panama, with a cargo of case oil from New "York. She is due at any time now. but no wireless advice has been received as to when she expects to reach port. The case oil is consigned to the Vacuum Oil Company, and the steamer is to the agency of the Union Company. OPIHI FOR NEW ZEALAND. A cable message has been received by Reese Bros., Ltd., to the effect that the' steamer Opihi, which has visited many parts of the world since she was converted into a steamer at Lyttclton some months ago, passed through the Suez Canal on September 1, bound from Marseilles to New Zealand ports.
