ABANDONMENT OF CHILD.
"DONE IN DESPERATION."
WOMAN ALLOWED PROBATION. [BY TELEGRAPH ASSOCIATION.]
CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday. Charged at the Supreme Court with
having abandoned an infant child. Ruth Robertson was admitted to probation for 12 months. Mr. Justice Herdman said he believed the accused's statement that the crime was committed in a moment of dssperation.
