THE AUCKLAND MINES.

MEN NOT UNANIMOUS.

ONLY THREE MINES "GO SLOW."

So far as the Auckland provincial mines are concerned, it appears that the. " goslow" policy is being conducted in only three mines, namely, the Taupiri Company's Extended mine at Hiintly, the same company's Rotowaro mine, and the Pukemiro Company's mine a few miles from Huntly. This fact is interpreted by those in the industry to indicate that all the miners are not of one mind in regard to the easing-up tactics. In this connection it is reported that when Mr. .7. O'Brien, the representative of the Northern district on the executive of the Miners' Federation, met the Hikurangi miners last Tuesday evening, he was accorded a mixed reception. Messrs. C. Aickin and Son, the Auckland agents of the Waipa Collieries, at Glen Massey, near Ngaruawahia, stated that the latest information received from the mine management indicated that thero had been no variation from the normal output. Officials of the Hikurangi Coal Company and the Northern Coal Company stated that the condition of things at their respective mines was quite normal, and apparently no decision had been made to commence a " go-slow" policy.
