HAMILTON SUPREME COURT.
TWO PRISONERS SENTENCED.
[BY TFXECItAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
HAMILTON. Thursday.
The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court were continued to-day before Mr. Justice Cooper.
Barnard Ganderton, who had pleaded guilty to two charges of breaking and entering and one of theft, was brought up for sentence. His Honor said he had considered the case carefully, and was satisfied that it was not one for probation. It was painful to see a young man in his position, but in the interest of the public and accused himself he thought that the course he proposed to adopt wou'd be best- -Accused would be detained for reformative purposes for a period not exceeding two years. Guilty of forcing and uttering at Te Aroha, Ros'na Rouse came up for sentence. His Honor said the probation officer's report was unfavourable, and it was impossible for the woman to reform unless she was removed from the.present surroundings. A sentence of two years' reformative treatment was imposed.
