KNOCKED DOWN BY TRAM.

MAN SEVERELY INJURED,

An accident in Hobson Street at about 6.40 p.m. yesterday led to the removal of Mr. James White to the Hospital. It is stated that the injured man was seen to endeavour to cross the street directly in front of a Heme Bay tramcar. Immediately he was knocked down the motorman stopped the car, but Mr. White sustained severe head and facial injuries. Late last ni"ht the Hospital reported that as the patient was in a semi-conscious condition his address could not be ascertained.
