LITHUANIAN SUCCESS.

BOLSHEVIKS ROUTED. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Sept. 2. The Bolsheviks on the Lithuanian front have been routed and are now suing for peace. The Lithuanians have surrounded the Bolsheviks on their front, and heavy captures are expected. The Lithuanians, advancing towards Vilna, are now near the Polish frontier.

Further to the north-east the Bolsheviks claim to have captured the outer fortifications of Dwinsk, and also claim the capture of four armoured trams equipped with guns and machine-guns between the Sebriakovo and Zelenovskaia stations.

They also claim to have reached a point 47 miles northward of Tsaritsyn, on the Volga, south of Kamishin.
