BRIDGING THE WAIKATO.
PROPOSALS DISCUSSED.

HAMILTON. Wednesday. Proposals to erect additional bridces across the Waikato at Hamilton were d'scussed by the Hamilton Borough Council to-night. The question of providing a special bridge for the use of etock was raised by Mr. A. Barton, who urged that an estimate of the cost be obfa'ned. He and the supervisor were appointed to ascertain the cost of obtaining an estimate With reference to the proposal to erect a new traffic bridge at the northern end of the town, it was decided to adopt the fu na !£ e -, omnttep ' recommendation that the Waikato County Council be asked to express an opinion on the proposal, that the Farmers' Union h 2 advised that it was competent for it to call a meeting and that the committee was of opinion that the council should not ca'l a public meeting until there was a definite scheme to put before the ratepayers.
