TEEMS TO BULGARIA.
CONFLICTING GREEK CLAIMS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 8.30 p.m.) PARIS. Sept. 1. The Supreme Council to-day discussed the Bulgarian treaty. The disposition of Thrace still remains a stumbling-block. A suggested compromise between the conflicting contentions of the United States and Greece gives Greece the /Egean seaboard, except Dedeagatch, which is reserved, under the League of Nations, as Bulgaria's economic outlet I to the sea.
It was recently reported from London that the Supreme Council had taken an important step towards the solution of the Thrace quea/ion. A scheme for the partition of the country on the following lines was generally lavoured. Easternmost Thrace, with Aananople and the Black Sea coast, wouid lorm part of the ti'iure international State ot Constantinople, In Central Ihrace a wiae corridor would be demarcated, running from tnt Bulgarian irontier to the sea, including the port of Dedeagatch. This would be made an international State under tne League ot Nations, and through it Bulgaria would nave access to tne j±>gean fcea. Western Ihrace would go to Greece, with the exception of a small area adjoining the Bulgarian 1912 frontier, winch would be given to Bulgaria. M. Venizelos, Prime Minister oi Ureece, had not agreed to this solution, and had' an alternative scheme, which had not lound acceptance with all the Powers, especially the United States.
