SILVERDALE NEWS.
REQUEST FOR RAILWAY.
A meeting of the Silverdale branch of the Waitemata Railway League was held recently, and the following resolution was passed :—" That the Government be requested to include in the schedule of the Railways Authorisation Bill of the present cession of Parliament a grant for 4. Waitemata railway, to be constructed from the northern shore of Waitemata Harbour to a suitable point on the Northland railway, so as to open up a large area of undeveloped land in Waitemata County, as well as shorten the railway route between the northern districts ami the City of Auckland."
