HIGH PRICES IN JAPAN.
SLOW ADVANCE OF WAGES. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 10 p.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 31. A despatch from Tokio states that it is estimated that the cost of living in Japan has increased tenfold and wages only fourfold since 1887.
