MR. FISHER AND WIDNES.
MESSAGE FROM NEW ZEALAND STATEMENT CONTRADICTED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 8 p.m.) LONDON. Aug. 29. Mr. Arthur Henderson, who is opposing Mr. F. M. B. Fisher at Widnes, in the eleventh, hour of the election campaign, received a cablegram from Mr. T. E. Y. Seddva from New Zealand, denying that Mr. F. M. B. Fisher relinquished his Ministerial position in order to corns to England, and pointing out that he was heavily defeated at the general election in 1913. This cablegram, together with a message from tha New Zealand Labour Party, wishing success to Mr. Henderson, has been widely placarded in the constituency.
