■ ♦■ NEW WAITAIA. s RESUMPTION OF WORK. The directors of the New Waitaia Gold Mining Company have decided to resume operations in their mine at Kuaotunu. All work waa. suspended in the property threo or four years ago.owing to the war, but now that hostilities have ceased its development is to be proceeded with. The manager now has a staff of men engaged in cleaning out the crosscut to the low level, where good gold was,left for some. distance. It is intended to sink a prospecting winze as a preliminary to opening oflt in a permanent manner. The resumption of operations in this mine is of interest seeing that it has for some years been a bullion producer. Between 1909 and 1916 the output won from the property was valued at '£18.197.
