Cl _ MEETING OF THE BOARD. The sitting of the Auckland Land Board commenced on Wednesday was continued yesterday, the commissioner, Mr; H. MSkeet, presiding. A large number of applications from returned soldiers for assistance to purchase land were dealt •with. Twenty were recommended for the approval of the Minister, subject to satisfactory investigation by the . eoiimissioner, bis were recommended for approval, several were left in the hands of the commissioner to deal with, and oihers were deferred Two- applications for postponement of rent from soldier tilers "were recommended for the approval of the Minister. Five applications for advances to soldier settlers were recommended for the approval of the Minister. Three ordinary applications for land were approved, and two were .recommended for the approval of the "Minister.
