DISPUTED STEEL DELIVERY.
JUDGMENT BY MAGISTRATE. Judgment was given by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday in the prolonged action in which John Burns and Co.; Ltd. (Mr. A. E. Skelton) sued G. H. Edwards, contractor (Mr. Haddow); for £199, allegedly due for steel supplied in connection with a building contract. In giving judgment the magistrate said he had three points to decide(l) the disputed delivery of one lot of steel worth £60 &3 Bd, the receipt of which the defendant denied; (2) the price of the stock; and (3) the weight. On the first point he held that the evidence was in favour of the plaintiff, and gave judgment accordingly. The decision was for. the defendant, on the second issue and for the plaintiff on tie third. No monetary judgment was given, the. magistrate referring the claim back to the parties for settlement, with the- condition that, any further,disagreement.could be brought before him. Costs were allowed to the plaintiff. . -.
