IRONWORKERS' HOURS.
REDUCTION TO BE SOUGHT. [BT TEWGRAttt.-rRttS ASSOCIATION.] CHRIBTCHURCH. Friday. Employees in the iron trade in Christchurch will proceed at the coming sitting of he Arbitration Court for a 44-hour week in place of tho present 47-hour! week. Action will bo taken under the 1 War Regulations Act, which provides for ' amendments in regard to hours as well as wages, but up to the present its provision regarding hours has not been taken,' advantage of in Canterbury. I The workers will oppose any reduction' in pay to correspond with the reduction' of hours. |
