It i* hereby publicly notified that, in view of the shortage of coal, and under the powers conferred by regulations gazetted in pursuance of the provisions of the War Regulations Amendment Act. 1916, the following restrictions on users of Borough Gas and Electricity will bo imposed on and from SATURDAY. 16th inst.:— 1. All Street Lamps (whether gas or electric, will bo extinguished at 9 p.m., and the number in Victoria Street reduced. 2. All Lighting of Outside Lamps in tho «hop area except up to 9 pm. on Friday Evening, and all lighting of shop windows, whether by gas or electricity, after 9 p.m. on Friday and after 6 p.m. on all other evenings, is prohibited (exception being made for a single night light). 3. The pressure in the Gas Mains will be reduced between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 »t.m. to » point that will cut out the use of gas for reading, writing and cooking. Every person who uses or permits' the use of any Coal-gas or Ejectricity in breach of the above restrictions is deemed to be guilty of an offence against,the gazetted regulations, Mid is liable e^ordingly. Notice is hereby given that the Whangamarino Road Board proposes to raise, under the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913. and its Amendments, a Special Loan oj £1000 for the purpose of re-forming and metalling Wbangamarino Station Road and a portion of Main South Road adjacent, and a portion of Black's Road in Section 152, Whangamarino Parish. . The proposed security for payment of interest and principal and other charges is a Special Rate of Ono Half-penny (id) m the Pound (£) upon the capital value of all ratable property within the Whangamarino Special Rating Area of the Whangamarino Road District, and it is the intention to pay out of the Loan the cost of raising the Loan and interest for tho first year. The Loan is for a period of 361 years, at the rate of interest of £4 10s per centum per annum, with an additional charge to provide for repayment of principal.
