ADMIRAL SILENCED.
SUPPRESSION OF A SPEECH. A. and N.Z. SAN DIEGO (Cal.). Aug. 8. Admiral Rodman, at a navy banquet, was about to deliver a speech referring to future wars in which the American Navy may participate, when he was ordered to suppress the speech. Mr. Daniels, Secretary of the Navy, explained that the Navy Department thought the remarks which the admiral intended to make were undesirable.
