QUESTION OF TE KUITI SITE.

TE KUITI. Saturday. The only suitable site for the proposed hospital is one of 10 acres in the town, but the local bodies could not secure it," as the paddock is used to graze a hors* for officers of the Agricultural Department. Efforts to overcome the objection failed owing to the opposition of the Depart ment. When in Wellington recently, Mr James Wall, chairman of the Waitomo County Council, interviewed the Minister for Agriculture and the Secretary of the Department. A suggestion was made thai if the local bodies could procure a suitabid piece of land handy to Te Ku:ti for the use of the officials an exchange could be effected. Steps are now being taken to bring the matter to Jinality,
