Their places are being rapidly filled. Four hundred police pensioners have applied for permission to resume duty. Sir Nevill Macready, Metropolitan Police Commissioner, has thanked the metropolitan police for their splendid loyalty. He was convinced, he said, that now the force had been purged of discontent, it would increase its great reputation.
