DEATH OF LADY PARKES. SYDNEY. July 12. The death has occurred of Lady Parkes, widow of the late Sir Henry Parke.*, formerly Premier of New South Wales. FREEMAN NOT TO BE TRIED. MELBOURNE, July 12. The Acting Federal Premier, Mr. W. A. Watt, has announced that it is not intended to give a public trial to the miner Freeman, whom the authorities attempted to deport to America.
