REMOVAL OF THE BLOCKADE
TRADE TO BE RESUMED. BRITISH REGULATIONS. SOME RESTRICTIONS STILL. By Tclejrraph—Press Association— (Received 5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. LONDON. July 12. The blockade of Germany has been lifted by the Allies. Despite this British restrictions on German imports will continue. The Government will shortly send Consuls to Germany to assist in the trade resumption. The Board of Trade has authorised, with certain reservations, the resumption of trade with Germany and German-Austria by means of general licenses. These do not remove the restrictions upon the payment of debts and the return of property due to persons of the above countries arising out of pre-war transactions. The licenses do not permit the import of goods included in the prohibition of import proclamations, and not covered by the general license issued under the latter. Export licenses must be obtained in respect of lists A and B, but none in respect of list C of prohibited exports.
