Ltd.. that the Port Pirie left Newcastle for Auckland on Wednesday. She ■ is due here on Monday. The Union Steam Ship Company's Flora ' is expected to reach Auckland from Rarotonga and Tahiti to-day. She left Rarotonga last Wednesday week, and has apparently been delayed by the heavy weather. She is timed to sail on Tuesday on thtf return voyage* The schooner Northern Chief is expected to sail for Newcastle to-day to load coal for Auckland. Owing tc the restricted railway services, the Northern Steamship Company has de- ' cided to alter the time of departure of the Ngapuhi from Auckland to Tauranga onMondays and Thursdays from 5.15 p.m. to ! 7 p.m. This will allow passengers from Waikato to reach Auckland by the 6.5 p.m. train, and go on to the Bay of Plenty the same evening. The Tasman, which has been delayed on the East Coast owing to the bad weather, 1 arrived at Whakatane yesterday. She is due ! back in Auckland to-morrow. The Ngatiawa : also experienced rough weather, and should ' return from Opotiki on Monday. The Rarawa and Rimu were both able to cross the Manukau Bar yesterday, and sailed for Now Plymouth and Hokianga respectively. • The Arahura arrived from Gisborne and Napier last evening and berthed at the- ! Kind's Wharf. She will sail on the return j voyage at 4 p.m. to-day. * ' The A. and A. steamer City of Lincoln is ' 1o load at New York shortly for Auckland, i Wellington. Lyttelton. and Duced-ii. She ; will be followed bv the City of Winchester 1 for either New Zealand or Australian ports. j The I'akeha is due at Wellington on ' Monday from Bluff and Timaru, where she completes loading for Home. She is expected to sail for London on Thursday. The Shaw. Savill and Albion Co., Ltd.. has received advice that the lonic, which left Wellington on May 31, left Colon on June 23 in continuance of her voyage 10 England. The original proposal to send the F. and S. liner Dorset from Australia to New Zealand to load for the United Kingdom has been, cancelled. The barque Antiope will complete discharging here next week, and will sail for Wellington to put out the balance of her cargo of oil. She will then proceed to Suva in ballast under charter to John Bums and Co. to load copra for England. Advice hag been received that the New Zealand Shipping Company's Kaikouia left Colon for Newport News, en route to Lon- I don, on June 21. The steamer sailed from i Wellington on May 21. The New Zealand Shipping Company's Hororata, which left Wellington on May 5, arrived at London on June 22. j THE TOFUA. j The departure of the Tofua from Wellington for San Francisco has again been postponed till 5 p.m. oh Monday. j THE TAHITI ARRIVES. The troopship Tahiti arrived from London, via Panama, shortly after sevan o'clock yesterday morning, and anchored in the stream to land the Auckland portion of her draft. She left Tilbury docks ok May 27, and reached Colon on June 10. After coaling she continued her voyage. Coming acrosß
lthe Atlantic the -weather was generally fine, except for heavy toga, which lasted about a week. Two weeks before reaching Auckland she ran into heavy head eeas, which considerably delayed her, the log showing only 130 knots on one day, while in fine weather sho is capable of doing 370 knots. Captain D. Todd is in command, and he has with him the following officers:—Chief, Mr. D. McDonald; second, Mr. D. McKenzie; third, Mr. D. F. Smith: chief engineer, Mr. D. McCaig: second, Mr. L. 8. Dawson; third, Mr. J. C. Reynolds; fourth, Mr. L. Fairburn; fifth, Mr. T. A. Carr; sixth. Mr. W. 8. Wills: seventh, Mr. W. Bryant; eighth, Mr. F. D. Sutherland: ninth, Mr. J. E. Carr; electrician. Mr. W. C. Joblin; purser, Mr. P. B. Cook. The Tahiti continned her voyage to Wellington at 1.45 p.m. with the Southern portion of her draft.
