MAKING A WELSH ARMY.
LLOYD GEORGE AND KITCHENER.
How Mr. Lloyd George fo'ight against obstacles in the" Cabinet and at the War Office in his endeavour to strengthen the Welsh Army was told by General Sir Owen Thomas, at a meeting in Wales. One_ day, said the general, he accompanied Mr. Lloyd George from the Treasury to tho War Office to see Lord Kitchener.
"I spoke to Lord Kitchener this morning," said Mr. Lloyd George on the W&.V, "and he will not have it that nationality means anything, but I will have a Welsh Army." Mr. Lloyd George and Lord Kitchener were together for some time, and he (tho general) expected to hear words, bat 20 minutes later ho was called into the room and taw the two liko lambs. Lord Kitchener, who was smoking a big cigar, said : " I am going to have a Welsh Army, and you are appointed brigadier-genera'."
