CARRYING ON WAR WORK. A. and N.Z. LONDON. June IS. General Sir H. F. Wilson presided over the Imperial Education Co.aference at Australia House, leading Dominion representatives taking part in discussions on army educational schemes. It was resolved that the formation of Imperial eduction bureaus of overseas universities in close touch with university happenings in the Mother Country Should be undertaken. _ Mr. H. A. L. Fisher, Minister for Education, emphasised the present unrivalled' opportunity. There had been 3,000,000 men educated at one time under the army scheme, which was not created by the Government, bat arose spontaneously from the men. who felt that otherwise they would be wasting time. Australian and other Dominion soldiers felt tins particularly. The schemes whereby Overseas Dominion troops had visited British factories, farms, and universities had been a great success, and shown to the full the value of co-operation, which must not be allowed to fizzle out after the war. Equality of educational opportunities throughout the Empire must be established, securing the greatest possible interchange of students and teachers between the Dominions and the Motherland.
