FIFTY YEARS AGO.

THE LONG DRWE CLAIM, FIXE SPECIMENS OBTAINED. ■•' A further lot of splendid specimens wa* taken out of the Long Drive claim yesterday, and the face of the drive looks richer than ever. When it is remembered that the whole of the specimens which wera lately taken cut of this claim, and which, have brought it into such prominence, have heen taken, from the drive only, that no "stoning" whatever lias been , taken down, and tint the gold has been followed down a winze for upwards of 60ft, wo can fully understand the anxiety on the part of the public to purchase shares. Without doubt, the finds exceed everything yet discovered on the field, and will do much to attract attention to tho Thames. Shares in this claim changed hands yesterday for £12C each.
