SUICIDE ON MOUNT EDEN.
RETURNED SOLDIER'S DEED.
ARTERY SEVERED WITH RAZOR.
A returned 6oldier named Charts Theodore Victor Campbell, 31 year* of age, committed suicide on tho summit of Mount Eden yesterday afternoon, by severing the main artery in his left arm with a razor, Deceased, who belonged to Invercargill, was a coachbuilder by occupation, and came to Auckland on a. visit to bis brother. They went to the top of Mount Eden and deceased, giving some excuse, left his brother. Tho latter, as deceased did not return, went in search of him and found him almost dead. He rendered what assistance lie could and then went for medical aid, but Campbell ■expired before this was available. Tho body was taken to the mortuary, where \ an inquest will be held to-day. "
