CONFERENCE PROPOSED.

The tramways purchase question was again considered by the One-tree Hill Road Board last evening, and the decision was arrived at that a conference should be sought with the Mount Albert and Onehunga Borough Councils, at which the matter from the suburban point of view should be discussed.

- Tho chairman, Mr. H. Dohbie, explained that the City Council had agreed to 0110 of the" board's stipulations, to the effect that the council should enter into a separate agreement with the board that it would i fully perform all -the obligations of the i Tramway Company under the Order-in- , Council and the deed of delegation so that . tho board might have a direct remedy !against the council in the event of a breach.

In a discussion in which legal opinions were referred to, it was stated that tho board must bo careful that present or future tramway questions could not be used as a lever to force the board into the city on (he City Council's terms.
