AMBASSADOR TO AMERICA.
— «♦ PROBABILITIES DISCUSSED. A. and N.Z. NEW YORK, May 1. The London correspondent of the New York Times states that the next Ambassador to the United States will probably bo chosen from the following men:—Professor Gilbert Murray, Dr. H. A. L. Fisher, President of the Board of Education, Sir Auckland Geddes, and Lord Burnham. The best informed circles believe that Mr. Lloyd George's purpose in asking Sir Auckland Geddes to defer taking up the post of Chancellor of the McGill University was a desire to send him to Washington.
