• SURPLUS OVER VACANCIES. . Twenty-two further nominations for the 21 seats on the City Council were received . on Thursday by the registrar of electors, ' Mr. G. R. Hogan, These were ■ Sitting Members: Miss E. Melville, i Messrs. A. J. Entrican, G. Baildon, P. 1 M. Mackay, J. B. Paterson, J. Trevithick, ' and F. W. H. Brinsden. New Candidates: Messrs. Paul Richardson, T. J. W. Buxton, P. McElwain, J. Joiner, W. H. McKinney, A. Jackson, J. ; 1 T. Derrick, J. A. Abbott, T. Bloodworth, : E. J. Phelan, M. J. Savage, P. F. Cooper R. F. Way, J. Aggers and G. Davis. The nominations now received {or the • City Council number 28, so that there is already a surplus of seven candidates over , the vacancies to be filled. Nominations j will close on Tuesday at noon. , At tho request of a number of electors ' of the Epsom district, Mr. Thos. Buxton, of Owen's Road, has decided to seek election to the City Council. For the city seats on the Harbour Board the following further nominations were re-: ceived -.-Messrs. A. J. Entr/can and A. G. Williams.
