SOLDIERS RETURN HOME
MAHENO DUE ON MONDAY.
AUCKLAND MEN TOTAL 104.
ELEVEN COT CASES INCLUDED.
The hospital ship Maheno is due at j Auckland on Monday with 398 sick and wounded members of the New Zealand! Expeditionary Force. The Auckland quota J is comprised of 104 details, of which 11 are cot cases and 93 walking cases. No information has yet been received by the Defenc® authorities as to the approximate time of arrival, but it is not anticipated that/ the vessel will reach this port before the afternoon. The Maheno will be brought to an anchorage in the inner harbour, where she will be boarded by the port health officer, Dr. E. W. Sharman. If declared " clean," the ship will be berthed at the Queen's Wharf for disembarkation purposes. Troops who are not scheduled for indoor treatment at hospitals will be landed at once, and conducted to the next of kin enclosure, where they will be considered dismissed by the Defence authorities. Their next care, that of reaching " home" with the utmost despatch, will be attended to by a volunteer motor corps, under the direction of Mr. A. A. Martin.
Providing the .Maheno is berthed on Monday, troops lor Rotorua, Thames, Waihi, and Paeroa districts will be despatched by the 9.15 a.m. express on Tuesday from the No. 5 platform. Details for Kaipafa and intermediate stations and ports will proceed by a train loaving the N'o. 6 platform at 10.50 a.m. The men for Whangarei and other northern towns will leave by the Muriaia at 10 p.m. on Wednesday. .No leave will be granted to members of southern quotas owing to the fact that the vessel will remain in port but a short time.
The Post and Telegraph Department announces that wireless messages will bo accepted for transmission to and from the Maheno.

The Kaikoura, from Egypt, -with 111' troops aboard, arrived at eight o'clock thi morning, and is to berth at half-past sever to-morrow morning. A special troop train leaves WelXngtoi for Auckland at 10.5 a.m to-day, and i: expected to arrive here at 5.30 a.m, to morrow. The men will then bo conveyec to their homes by the volunteer moto corps. THE CORINTHIO'S TROOPS. ARRIVAL MONDAY AFTERNOON [BY TELEGRAPH.— press ASSOCIATION'.] WELLINGTON. Thursday.
