A. and N.Z.
CAIRO, April 6.
General Sir Edmund Allenby has given details of the murder of nine British officers and five men on board a train from Upper Egypt on March 15. Crowds collected at every station and threw stones. The crowd rushed the train at Deirout, pulled the enginedriver off the cab, entered a compartment, and killed two officers. Several of the natives remained on board the train until it arrived at Dorrnoos, where another large crowd armed with ' sticks, stones, and knives attacked the train and killed the remainder of the party. All the bodies were left on board the train except one, which is still missing. The crowds at subsequent stations raised shouts of joy on learning that the British officers had been killed.
