The report of a committee set up te consider teachers* 6alariss and qualifications was presented at the meeting of l -ha High Schools' governors to-day. The committee recommended that the salaries of secondary school teachers should be revised and increased ; that the question of their qualifications and training should be considered, and that a conference of representatives of secondary school boards, including Technical Colleges, should be called in Wellington during the Parliamentary session. The report was adopted, and the board decided to request the Government to make provision for hoards 10 increase the salaries of secondary school teachers.
