Tu«d»yThe Independent Order of Oddfellows Grand Lodge annual session was opened to-day, representatives being present fro™ all parts of the Dominion. The balancesheets and reports disclosed a stron? condition of affairs. During tin- waX period the consolidated, funds increased by £20,000. The epidemic funeral claims totalled £2000, and war funeral claims to £7500. All these payments had been made without a levy on members or drawing on " ,9 * benefit funds. The session strongly protested against the withdrawal of railway concessions from friendly societies conferences .especially as it is understood theatrical companies and others Btw obtain concessions.
